Kizzme Garden Tip: Stop And Smell The Roses, Just Don’t Eat The Daises — Daisies Are Toxic to Cats! Who knew that beautiful little innocent-looking fresh cut yellow Spring Daisies are toxic to cats?
Today Kizzme and I spent a joyful morning admiring our new garden plants that will soon be planted in our conservation garden. As Kizzme inspected the new flowering shrubs, I began to wonder which plants might have toxicity to cats. The ASPCA provides a fairly comprehensive list of common plants which are toxic to our pet pals.
And yes, I was surprised to discover beautiful daisies are included on the toxic plant list. So whether you enjoy store-bought flower arrangements with lovely daisies or daisies growing in your garden, please be mindful there are more plants than you can imagine that can be potentially harmful and even deadly to our kitty friends. Some cats have a sixth sense about toxic plants and will stay away from the bad plants but we can never be too cautious in protecting our loved ones.
