Long Beach City Hall will become “Kitty Hall” on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, to encourage shelter cat adoptions and promote awareness of Long Beach Animal Care Services. Kitty Hall will take place in the lobby of City Hall, 333 West Ocean Boulevard.
“When you adopt a shelter cat, you are saving a life,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “I adopted my cat from our shelter and he’s been a great addition to our family.”
The public is invited to play and cuddle with the kittens and cats available for adoption at “Kitty Hall.” Representatives will be available to answer questions about cat ownership and accept adoption applications. The P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village currently has more than 100 cats and kittens waiting for families to adopt them. Mayor Garcia’s cat Tommy, the “First Cat,” will be in attendance.
Spay and Neuter vouchers will be available, and there will be a discounted adoption rate of $20.
